THOR - FOUND IN TAMAN TAR, AMPANG

30/05/14 We picked this boy up this afternoon in Taman TAR, Ampang. Nicole Suresh and Elton Joshua spotted him a couple of days ago while walking their kiddos and assumed that he belonged to someone in the area who had let him out, and so didn't think much of it.

 

But then I saw a dog standing in the middle of the road, looking rather confused and lost,as I was on my way home from the vet with my Cleo and Brownie this afternoon. And I knew immediately that it had to be the same dog that Nicole had told me about.

 
















So I raced home to drop them off, picked Nicole Lee and Elton up, and drove out again to find him. It was raining and we were worried that the poor boy would be even more frightened than he already is. 

 

Thankfully, we managed to find Thor after about 20 minutes of driving around, whimpering in the rain. He ran for his life when we approached him, but when he realised that we were just trying to help he came up to us, albeit, cautiously.

 

After bribing him with a can of Cesar dog food, he decided that we were his best buddies, jumped into the car quite happily.

 

We have already taken him to the vet for a check up. He's healthy except for a minor skin problem (probably from the stress of being on the streets on his own). The vet thinks he's about 10-12 months old only... so he's still a puppy.

17/04/14 UPDATE: Buster has finally decided to eat!!! We tried everything we could think of. Kibble, kibble with canned food, canned food only, canned food and rice, rice boiled with chicken, chicken rice and gravy, fried chicken... everything! But he just would not eat! He might nibble on it and then would spit it out!

As a last resort, we thought we would offer him a 300g chunk of raw, frozen pork. And guess what? He sniffed it, then took it and proceeded to eat it quite happily! So we don't know if he is a raw fed dog - it seems quite unlikely - but we are just so happy he has finally eaten something!

And a bit more good news, he seems to have calmed down at the foster carer and is getting to be a bit friendly with the foster carer's dog too... So we hope that he will continue to improve while we now look for his forever home!

We found Buster last Sunday (13/4/14) in Bukit Indah, Ampang. He was clearly lost, and was frightened and confused. After spending ages trying to calm him down, we managed to get him home. Unfortunately he did not get along with one of our foster dogs at all. So we had to board him at our vet while we tried to locate his family.

We have had no luck so far as no one has come forward to claim him although his picture has been shared alot and we have also put up posters in the area where we found him and in the surrounding tamans.
 

He has however, been miserable at the vet and has refused food since Sunday. He has also been howling and trashing himself against the cage, trying to get out.

We managed to get a foster carer today (16/04/14). The foster carer has a huge compound with only one female dog and Buster is getting along fine with her. Buster is doing much better in a home environment. We have also discovered that he does not like adult male dogs but is okay with puppies. :)
 
Buster is a really sweet dog and loves to sit and cuddle in your lap. He loves car rides too and would sit in your lap and look out the window quite happily.

Buster needs to be in a home environment where he will not be left alone for long periods of time. He needs someone who will give him lots of cuddles and spend alot of time with him to reassure him that he will not be abandoned again. Do you think you can give Buster the home he deserves? UPDATE 13/04/2014: Milka has been adopted by a lovely family who love her to bits.

 UPDATE 14 MARCH 2014: We sent this sweet girl for grooming as her fur was quite dirty and slightly matted at her bum and tail area. Plus her nails were rather long. She's looking very nice now, and after that we took her to the vet today for a checkup. Unfortunately her parvo test kit reflects that she could be a borderline case for parvo. She shows no sign of being sick and her temperature is normal.




 We have managed to find a foster carer for her who can isolate he although he has a dog. The vet has prescribed some immune boosters and also antibiotics for any secondary infection that may set in. So please pray that it is a false positive and that she will be okay.


In the mean time we really need to find her family... Please share this as widely as possible and call 016 335 8768 if she is your dog.

 Just picked this girl up this evening at 8pm (12 March 2014) in Rasmi Jaya, Ampang.

She was walking in the middle of the road and was very disoriented. She is well fed and has no ticks and is just dirty from being out on the streets on her own. So we don't think this is a case of abandonment.

FOSTER CARER NEEDED FOR OREO

21/02/14 UPDATE: Oreo has been re-united with his family.

We found Oreo on Monday morning (17 Feb) and he's the sweetest dog ever. We are still hoping that we will be able to find his family as he is missing home terribly. 

We have taken him for a check up with our vet yesterday and he is estimated to be about 2-2.5 years old only. He has minor injuries probably from either fighting or just from being out on the streets. The vet suspects that he may have injured his legs and we will be taking him for an x-ray next week. 

Anyway, as our house is already full to the brim, we can't keep Oreo at home, but have boarded him at a pet shop near us. They are looking after him well, but he is caged up pretty much the whole day. And he hates it... 

We have been going daily to take him for nice long walks but it breaks our heart to have to put him back in the cage. He gets so upset and starts whining and crying when we put him back in. So if anyone can foster him and give him a temporary home while we try to locate his family, that would be great.

Food will be provided and we will look after all medical bills for Oreo.

If he is not claimed by next week, we will put him up for adoption.

CAN ANYONE GIVE PA A HOME?

 

I received a call from Sheryl who thought that the dog that I rescued yesterday was one of her rescued and adopted dogs. It turns out that the boy I rescued is not hers. But I must say that they look incredibly alike.

Anyway, Pa was adopted by someone from Sheryl, but unfortunately Pa is no longer being cared for properly by his adopter. This is why Sheryl called me cause she thought that he might have been dumped! And so Sheryl is looking for a new family that will give him the home he deserves. 

Pa is a 4 year old boy, has been neutered and is a very calm and obedient dog. If you can give him a home, please give Sheryl a call on 012 902 9071

OREO NEEDS A HOME

Oreo was rescued recently by Liz Hsiao from Kelab Darul Ehsan. Apparently she was stuck in the fence and was severely dehydrated, scared and hungry. Oreo has been to the vet and has been dewormed. She is about 4 months old has also been given a clean bill of health.


Oreo is now available for adoption to a good home.



Terms and conditions for adoption:
1. Oreo must be spayed when she's 6 months of age.
2. Oreo must not be caged or chained unecessarily.
3. Oreo must be given adequate food, clean water and shelter from the heat and rain.
4. Oreo MUST be given lots of love.

20/11/13 Found this girl stuck inside a 5 foot deep drain while walking the kids this morning. She was looking very weak and exhausted. So told her to stay there, raced the kids back and got Nicole Lee Suresh to come with me to get her out.

We weren't sure if she would bite, but luckily she didn't. Carried her out and she was very weak and was also probably in shock. She couldn't even stand. 




Then a lady came down from the apartments across the road and told us that she had fallen in yesterday. She had put in some bags of leaves and grass (swept by MPAJ) to try and get her to get out, but she just lay on top of the bags and refused to climb out. So the lady fed her yesterday and had come to feed her again today. She was very worried cause no one she knew would help her. 


 
Anyway, we have taken her to the vet, and he has discovered that she has recent trauma to her right eye - some internal bleeding. She doesn't seem to have any broken bones but he is worried that there may be some internal damage. So we have taken a blood sample to check and he has given her some meds to support her internal organs while waiting for the results.

 
Her fur is very dirty although not obvious in the pictures and she also has skin issues. But otherwise she seems reasonably well taken care of.

BLACKY HAS GONE HOME AFTER BEING ON THE ROAD FOR 3 WEEKS ON HIS OWN!!!

Hi all,

This boy literally came to my house at about 4.30pm today (24/10). He's very friendly, well behaved and walks well on a lead. So he's definitely got a family somewhere.

Please help share this as widely as possible so that we can reunite him with his family. I really can't keep him for long as I will be away for work from this weekend!
