This is Isabella (Bella).
She can sit and give the paw.
She can jump really high.
She knows how to walk on a leash.
She knows how to poo-poo outside while walking.
She has had all her shots and she is neutered.
She broke her back leg and she has a metal piece and screws but she has fully recovered.
She can be weary of people and growl until she smells them.
She doesn't bite but she can look scary when she looks at people a certain way.

This is Carlos.
He can sit and give both paws.
He can sit with both paws up in a begging position.
He knows how to walk on a leash.
He knows how to poo-poo outside while walking.
He has had all his shots and he is neutered.
He is a fearful dog and is afraid of his own shadow.
He barks loudly but he is never aggressive.
Carlos cannot live without Bella- if she is out of his sight, he cries and moans in pain.

We have just been contacted by Shida in Taman Putra Sulaiman, Ampang (opposite Ampang Point) about this gorgeous boy.

He is a German Shepherd cross, and apparently his owner abandoned him when they moved out about 3 months ago.

She has been feeding him together with another neighbour, but as they are in predominantly Muslim/Malay area, they are having alot of problems. The other neighbours have already called MPAJ a couple of times, but thankfully they have failed to catch him...

We need someone to adopt/rescue this sweet dog before it's too late.

URGENT! FOSTER CARERS NEEDED FOR FOXY & PUPPIES

 

30/05/13 Spotted this dog on Jalan 4K, Ampang Jaya early this afternoon, and again at about 7pm.

She was looking very distressed and was running in the middle of the road. We came back to bring her some food which she wolfed down, and then discovered the source of her distress.

 

She had 4 little puppies that were trapped on the inside of the fence to TAR Villas.We think what had happened was that she must have given birth there, and then probably got chased out by the security guards.

 

We approached the guard to ask if she could be let in, but he wasn't having any of it. So finally we asked if we could go and get the puppies, which he thankfully allowed.

The puppies are really tiny and have yet to open their eyes even. We think that they are less than a week old. It took us over an hour to then trap the mother dog, which we have decided to call Foxy.

 

They are safe for the night, but we really need to get foster carers ASAP!

We will provide food and take care of all the medical bills.... If you can't help, please, please SHARE this post. Someone you know may be able to look after them. We do not want to board them because the puppies are so small and may be at risk of picking up infections etc at a clinic.

If you would like to adopt, please note that the puppies are currently too young to be separated form the mother. They will be weaned from about 2 months of age. If you would like to reserve a puppy, please SMS as well. The term & conditions for adoption are:

1. There is no adoption fee, but any donation is welcome to defray the costs of deworming, vaccination, neutering and other medical costs.
2. An interview and a home visit will be conducted before the pups or Foxy are released to their new home.
3. They should not be caged or chained for long periods of time.
4. They must be provided with sufficient food, water, exercise, medical care (if necessary) and clean shelter from the heat and rain.
5. The pups MUST be neutered by the adopter when they are older - 3 months. This is NON-NEGOTIABLE. 
6. Foxy will be neutered before being released to the adopter.

If you are unable to agree to the T&Cs above, please do not contact us. Please note that there is a refundable reservation fee (upon actual adoption) of RM200 per puppy.

Please understand that we have had people "booking" a puppy and then backing out at the last minute, which means that we have to incur additional costs as well as lose possible adopters.

ONE STREET CNRM BY ANIMALCARE & PAWS

To all animal lovers in the MPSJ area, Animal Care and Paws are in the midst of launching a great initiative for our street animals. Please visit Animal Care's website to find out more.

Here is an extract of the draft proposal to MPSJ.

AnimalCare, in collaboration with PAWS, is planning to seek the approval of MPSJ to endorse and support One-Street CNRM and implement TNR in certain streets/areas under the jurisdiction of MPSJ.

1.     Ear-notched animals: All ear-notched animals (dogs and cats) will NOT be captured.  If they are captured, they will be released immediately as they have already been neutered.

2.     Designated “Animal-Friendly” zones:
(a)  We identify designated areas where the stray animals are exempted from capture-and-kill.
(b)  A feeder will be responsible in each area.
(c)  The feeder will ensure that the animals in the area are neutered and given appropriate medical treatment when necessary. The feeder is entitled to claim a subsidy from AnimalCare or use the services of PAWS’ mobile clinic.

(d) The feeder will submit a monthly report to AnimalCare detailing the number of animals, the health condition of the animals and other relevant information.

(e)  At the end of 12 months, a full report will be submitted to the MPSJ. If the results are favourable, we will lobby for more areas to be under the “Animal-Friendly” zone, but we need a feeder to be responsible for each area.

An area = A street or a few streets (please identify your street/s when you write to us).
We are now calling for feeders in the MPSJ area to participate in our pilot project which we hope, will spearhead CNRM by the residents and TNR by the council for the long-term wellbeing of all street animals.

4 ADORABLE PUPPIES AND MAMA DOG FOR ADOPTION

30/05/13 UPDATE: Sadly, Dobby passed away 2 days after her last puppy Little Bear was adopted. It was almost as if she gave up on life after she knew all her puppies were safe in their new homes. We are so sorry that we didn't get a chance to get you a home Dobby. You were the most amazing mother dog away. May you rest in peace in doggy heaven...

17/04/13 UPDATE: We managed to get Dobby the very next day. 3 of her 4 pups have already been adopted. We have one more very cute girl left! Please call us if you would like to have bouncy puppy!

In the mean time, we will be looking after Dobby to make sure she gains some weight. Once she is ready, she will be up for adoption too. She has a very sweet temperament and will make an excellent companion.

Dobby - the best mother dog ever!

Dobby has been roaming round our housing area for a few weeks. We have been feeding her and she was very friendly. But she would always cart away a hunk of meat instead of eating it all at my place. It looked like she had puppies but although we have followed her on many occasions, we never found them.

Finally we decided that her puppies must either be dead or she had abandoned them. So last Saturday we grabbed Dobby and took her to the vet. She was definitely not producing milk anymore and it didn't look like she had been feeding any puppies for sometime.

Dobby is currently very thin and she has been feeding and looking after her puppies really well

Anyway, Dobby was dewormed, frontlined and put on a course of antibiotics.She was generally okay except that she was severely underweight and had some minor skin problems. 

She was quite happy to be with us that whole afternoon and was great in the car, but that night she was very miserable. She tried her level best to escape to the extent that she was hurting herself. 

 

We decided to let her go on the off chance that her puppies were still somewhere out there. The next morning she appeared at my house as usual for her breakfast. She ate alot and carted a hunk of meat away like she normally does.

And finally today, a neighbour told me that he heard some puppies yapping in the monsoon drain nearby. We headed there this afternoon and true enough Dobby's puppies were there.

We had to go into some rather thick shrubbery and into the drains to get them. The pups are all safe at the moment (and very well fed as they are plump and healthy!) but there was no sign of Dobby anywhere. 

We have been searching for her all afternoon and evening. We will be grabbing Dobby as soon as we see her so that she will be with her pups.

In the mean time we will need everyone's help to spread the word about these gorgeous pups so that we can get them adopted asap.

We found this girl at about 4pm on 14 March 2013 at Light Focus, Jalan Maarof, Bangsar. Please help share this as we believe that she is not a stray but is lost. We have called her Brownie for now.

Additionally, we are also looking for a foster carer for Brownie while we try to locate her family. If we are unable to reunite Brownie with her family by this Saturday, she will be put up for adoption. If you can foster Brownie or are interested in adopting her, please drop us an email too. She is approximately 10 years old, has no microchip. She was very stressed, confused and dehydrated when we found her. She is not too thin which means that she must have not been out on her own for too long. Her fur is moulting though and she has very dry skin.

She seems to have cataracts as well. We have done a blood test on her, and she has tested negative for heartworms. Her red cell count is slightly low and her liver readings are slightly elevated.We have dewormed her and started her on some supplements to boost her up while she rests at our vet's clinic for a few days. She will then be moved to a foster carer when she is stronger.
 

Although Brownie is okay, she is definitely missing home. Please help her find her family again. Share this post with as many friends as you can. Someone you know may know who she is and who she belongs to. She will be put up for adoption if she is not claimed in 2 weeks.
